Christina Tan holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance with a theory cognate from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music.Tan has been a member of the music faculty at the University of Akron, Hiram College, Asbury College, Transylvania University, Northern Kentucky University and Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. Most recently, she was teaching in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University's Preparatory School of Music, and Duquesne University.Currently, she is serving on the faculty at Winthrop University.
Tan is active as a soloist, collaborative pianist, adjudicator, and frequently gives master classes both in the US and abroad.She has been a guest artist with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, Warren Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
With over twenty years of teaching experience, Tan has had many students win competitions in piano solo, duet, and composition.She believes in cultivating functional musicians who will spend a lifetime reaping the benefits of making music.
