Gloria R. Stipp, Piano and Theory Instructor, has taught in Charlotte for over
31 years. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a major in Piano from
the University of Georgia, where she studied with Despy Karlas and Louise Harwell..
Gloria was elected to Sigma Alpha Iota Honorary International Music Fraternity.
Listed with Two Thousand Notable Women, International Directory of Distinguished Leadership and Personalities of America, Gloria is a former Chairman of Certification of the Piano Teachers (three years) for the North Carolina Music Teachers Association, past President of the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum, past President of the Charlotte Community Concert Association (now Carolina Concerts), as well as serving as Chairman of the Artist Selection Committee and as an Advisor. She served as an Officer or member of Friends of Music at Queens University, Charlotte Music Club, Community School of the Arts, Charlotte Opera Guild, Charlotte Symphony Guild, NC Federation of Music Clubs, NCMTA, National Guild of Piano Teachers, and is a Charter member of the Charlotte Music Teachers Association.
Gloria has been adjudicator for the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs Festivals in Charlotte and past Chairman of the National Guild of Piano Teachers Auditions in Charlotte. She Holds national and state permanent certification from Music Teachers National Association.
