Salary: $10,000-$13,000 depending on qualifications

Reports To: Pastor for daily activities; Staff-Parish Relations Committee for employment

matters

Position Summary

The Accompanist provides musical support for the worship life of Roberta Church through

piano accompaniment for congregational singing, choir anthems, rehearsals, special music, and

regular worship services. This person works closely with the Pastor, Choir Director, church staff,

and musicians to help lead worship that is prepared, faithful, reverent, and supportive of the

congregation.

Piano proficiency is required. Organ experience is preferred but not required.

This position requires more than piano proficiency. The Accompanist must be able to lead and

support congregational singing with confidence, steady tempo, clear hymn introductions,

appropriate transitions, and sensitivity to the flow of worship.

The Accompanist should understand that church music is not simply performance, but ministry.

The goal is to support worship, strengthen congregational singing, and help create an

atmosphere where the congregation can offer praise to God with confidence and unity.
