Music Director - MorningStar Presbyterian

The Music Director at MorningStar in Mathews, NC shall be the choir leader, instrumentalist and

director of the music program of the church in cooperation with the

pastor.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- The Music Director at MorningStar reports directly to the pastor.

- To provide oversight and leadership of the choir, including weekly

rehearsals.

- To play at all Services of Worship and at all special worship services,

including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good

Friday.

- Direct/Coordinate special music for weddings, funerals and other

special services if requested and subject to your availability. Fees to

be paid by family requesting your services.

- To consult with pastor regularly for coordination and planning and to

assist the pastor with the selection of worship hymns, if requested.

- Other responsibilities noted in Policy and Procedures Manual of MSPC.

Paid Vacation: 6 Sundays and associated choir rehearsals per year, paid by

MSPC for Substitutes that you arrange. Accompanists for any additional

Vacation Sundays to be paid by Music Director.

Salary: $11,300 per year
