Cresswind Choraliers
The Cresswind Choraliers Community Chorus in Charlotte, NC seeks a skilled and dependable Piano Accompanist
to support a volunteer chorus of approximately 40 singers.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accompanist
who has a heart for performing popular music and enjoys having fun.
Primary Responsibilities
Music Preparation
Independently learn and prepare all assigned choral music before rehearsals.
Review scores and become familiar with vocal parts, rehearsal markings and performance requirements.
Coordinate with the Music Director regarding rehearsal needs and musical interpretation.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Weekly Rehearsals
Attend weekly 60-minute rehearsals throughout the chorus season.
Arrive prepared to rehearse all scheduled music.
Play individual vocal lines, sectional parts and accompaniment as requested by the Music Director to assist singers in learning their parts.
Provide accurate tempos, pitches and musical support during rehearsals.
Concerts
Three annual concerts (two Christmas and one Spring concert), approximately 90 minutes each.
Qualifications
Strong piano performance and sight-reading skills.
Experience accompanying choral groups, vocal ensembles or community choruses required.
Ability to learn music independently and prepare thoroughly before rehearsals.
Familiarity with a variety of musical styles.
Compensation
Compensation is determined by the Cresswind Choraliers Community Chorus and is based on experience and qualifications.
