CPCC Piano Pedagogy Class
Begins January 13, 2026
Piano Pedagogy was originally offered as an elective curriculum course for pianists, but it is being discontinued in that format due to low enrollment. To keep the class available, our department has transitioned it to a Continuing Education course in the hope that community members will join our students, allowing the class to run.
Although the class will meet on Tuesdays from 2:30–4:00 p.m., it is designated as a Blended course, and I will provide online options for those who are interested but unable to attend at that time.
The curriculum includes educational theory, learning-style analysis, a survey of piano methods and teaching materials, guided observations, and projects aligned with the MTNA professional certification process. The cost is as low as CPCC permits--$150 for the full 16-week semester.

If you are at all interested, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I would also welcome any suggestions or advice based on your needs or past experiences with pedagogical training. You can contact me at [email protected] or [email protected]. ---Zaiba Sheikh
