THE SIGN UP GENIUS FOR CPTF AT PIANO DROME - CLICK HERE
March 5, 2025
Dear Fellow Teachers,

I am SO EXCITED to announce that we DO have Piano Drome at Charlotte SHOUT again this year!!!  Picture me in my Piano Drome shirt and piano high-tops, twirling my piano keys over my head and laughing with glee!  You may sign up with the link above NOW!

The Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum has been invited to be the primary musical group to provide all kinds of music at Piano Drome every day of the festival, April 4-20, 2025, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  The organizers would especially like to have music presented in the space during lunch hours.

NEW LOCATION: Two Wells Fargo Center Atrium at 301 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28282.   This is an exciting new venue and it is expected there will be a lot of foot traffic from festival goers.  PianoDrome will be the middle “exhibit” with two other special events on either side of us along the expansive space.

CPTF president, Sandy Barber, and I met with Robert Crumbine, Chief Creative Officer of Charlotte City Partners, and Logan Acheson, Program and Events Manager.  Sandy and I later discussed some creative, “out of the box” brainstorming about CPTF use of the space.  We would be thrilled if our very talented teachers who love to perform, present recitals as soloists or with a colleague or several.  Of course, many of us will present group recitals of students.  (My students can’t wait to go again!)  We are also excited for our members to lead drum circles, vocal interactive experiences, musical instrument “zoos,” or even circle dances around the grand piano in the center, as we know that many of our teachers enjoy various dance styles.  A CPTF recital can be presented if several teachers would like to coordinate and organize that, and we welcome recitals from groups of home school students who may be able to come during daytime hours when public/private students are in school.  Also welcome are recitals that include voice students and other instrumentalists in addition to pianists.

It was a monumental task to move this one-of-a-kind structure to its new venue, so let’s show that we appreciate this gift to the musicians, teachers, students, and entire Charlotte area by filling it with beautiful music! This is our THIRD and FINAL chance to experience PianoDrome Charlotte!  As the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum, let’s go out with a mighty SFORZANDO and share our love of music with our city and surrounding communities!  (I was going to say “go out with a bang,” but since we are musicians let’s be more musical!)

With Extreme Happiness,
Pamela Hughes
