​​​​Founded in 1953, Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum serves the greater Charlotte community of musicians and music lovers by providing a platform to encourage an exchange of current pedagogical trends and new piano literature, student scholarships, and performance opportunities for members and students.

Chad Lawson:  "Composing:  the Independent Artist"
​
Charlotte resident, Chad Lawson hit #1 on the Billboard Top Classical Albums with The Chopin Variations in 2014, inspired by the Chopin Etudes.  His recording, “Stay”, debuted in 2020.  Chad has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and NPR’s “All Things Considered”. You may have heard his music on Lore podcasts, Delta Airlines, or the Vampire Diaries.  Come and learn how Chad is introducing new generations to classical music with contemporary techniques and an emotive signature sound.
​Chad Lawson was born in Morganton, North Carolina.  He knew that he wanted to be a musician by the age of five after watching the band, Sha Na Na perform on television.
